Forgot your OKX password?
Login password, fund password and phone number, explained.
An OKX account has two passwords: the login password you sign in with, and the fund password for withdrawals and sales. Which one you forgot decides how you reset it.

How to reset a forgotten OKX login password
- Open the OKX app login page and tap “Forgot password”.
- Enter the phone number or email you signed up with, then complete the verification code and two-factor check.
- Set a new password. Don’t make it similar to the old one or reuse it from another site.
- Withdrawals and similar actions are limited for about 24 hours afterwards. That’s normal protection.
Only reset your password in the OKX app or on a URL you typed yourself. If a “reset page” came from a link in a text or email, check it in the app’s “Official verification channel” first.

Forgot your OKX fund password?
You only use the fund password when money leaves your account, so many people forget it. The good news: resetting it doesn’t need support.
- Log in to OKX and go to Profile → Security center → Fund password.
- Choose reset and complete the phone or email code plus your Google Authenticator check.
- Set a new fund password, then wait for the protection period to end before withdrawing.
Haven’t set a fund password yet? Do it now. If your login password ever leaks, the thief still can’t move your money without it.
How to change the phone number on OKX
Old number still receives texts: go to Security center → Phone → Change phone number and enter a code sent to each number.
Old number no longer works: in the change flow, say the old number is unavailable and complete the identity check. If self-service doesn’t work, contact OKX support from your registered email with your ID documents.
- Withdrawals and P2P sales pause for about 24 hours after the change.
- The new number can’t already be linked to another OKX account.
- Link an email too, so you still have a way back in if your phone number fails.
Not receiving OKX SMS or email codes?
- Check whether your phone blocks promotional texts or your plan has lapsed; wait 60 seconds before tapping resend.
- For email codes, check spam first and add OKX’s sending address to your contacts.
- With a non-local number, make sure the country code is right.
- Resending too often triggers a temporary limit. Wait a while and try again.
- Still nothing? Switch to Google Authenticator or email verification, or contact in-app live chat.

01How long after changing my password can I withdraw on OKX?
After you change or reset your login password, fund password, phone number or authenticator, withdrawals and P2P sales are usually limited for about 24 hours. The page shows the exact time.
02Is the “trading password” the same as the fund password?
Yes. Many people call the password they enter for withdrawals and sales a trading password; in OKX it’s called the fund password.
03Neither my phone number nor my email works. Can I still recover my account?
You can try, but it will be slower. You’ll need to pass an identity check to prove the account is yours, which is why identity verification matters so much.
04Can I sign up for OKX with someone else’s phone number?
We don’t recommend it. Your phone number is a key to account recovery, and using someone else’s hands them a key to your account.
05How many wrong password attempts before I’m locked out?
Several wrong attempts in a row lock the account temporarily. Wait for it to unlock or reset through “Forgot password”, and don’t keep guessing.
